head
opportunities

A typical scenario this......a traveller sits in the shade of a family run hotel in Sri Lanka writing in her journal. Having flown the family nest, fluttered down the neighbourhood hedgerow to Heathrow, and soared into your Adventure, you have the ideal opportunity to reassess for yourself about what Life may be about.

Away from the props of our privileged existence in the West, away from the blatherings of the media, the cult of celebrity, and the hussle bussle-you have a chance to reflect. On the right is my 30 litre daypack which contains a few esentials like a sleeping mat(also useful to pad the hard seats of buses and trains), a sleeping bag liner (which cocoons you on a series of suspect matresses), a sarong, a change of clothes(only), suncream, mozzinet, map/guide book, telescopic fishing rod, a lightweight canopy/groundsheet, and a book(constantly swapped en route).

The less you take the better for freedom and comfort, these days you can buy most of what you need along the way....basically, if you can't pick your tackle up with one hand and shake it, you've got too much!!
